Wrinkles develop over time due to the loss of collagen in the skin. Wrinkle Relaxing Injections using botulinum toxin is an effective non-surgical cosmetic treatment used to soften lines and wrinkles. Botulinum toxin, more commonly referred to as ‘Botox’ is a naturally occurring protein derived from Bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The protein is used cosmetically as a muscle relaxing injection for the treatment of wrinkles. It can be used for lines and wrinkles between the eyes, on the brow, around the eyes, upper lip lines, turned down corners of the mouth, neck lines and lines on the upper part of the chest.
The effects of the toxin start about 72 hours after the injections and continue to build over the next few weeks, lasting for several months. The most common side effects that may be experienced are a temporary and localised bruising, slight redness of the skin and occasionally slight swelling at the injection site.
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) can occur in the armpits, palms or soles of the feet and can be treated with botulinum toxin. The toxin blocks nerve impulses in the sweat glands without affecting other nerve functions stopping the excessive sweating.
The effects of the toxin can be noticed about 1-2 weeks after the treatment and can last up to 6 months.
Dermal fillers work to restore lost volume giving you a fresher, more toned and youthful appearance. Dermal fillers are comprised of Hyaluronic Acid, a clear gel that restores plumpness and fullness. The gel provides natural volume to enhance facial shape, by enhancing cheeks, chin or jaw line, smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles and can create fuller lips.
The benefits can normally be seen instantly. Slight redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching and/or bruising may be experienced temporarily for a couple of days following a treatment. The duration of the treatment effects are long lasting but not permanent and may vary from person to person. Following an initial treatment top ups are normally required from 4 to 12 months depending on the individual and the area treated.
Enhancing your lips with lip fillers can help to make your lips plumper and give you a more defined smile. The lip filler is designed to restore natural fullness and create beautifully shaped lips.
A local anaesthetic is applied first to ensure the area is numb as the lips can be particularly sensitive. After the procedure the lips may feel tender and there may some swelling and/or bruising which can last from 6-10 days. After this your lips will be fuller and more voluminous.
Over time we naturally lose facial volume associated with skin ageing, sun exposure and diet. By gently adding filler to the cheeks, facial features and definition can be enhanced naturally giving a more youthful appearance.
A little discomfort, possible swelling, redness and itching may be experienced immediately after treatment, which usually resolves after a few days.
As we get older we are more likely to notice the dark circles or hollows under our eyes and we may feel it causes us to look more tired. Filler can combat the loss of volume under the eye by plumping up the tissue to giving a more youthful appearance.
The injections contain a local anaesthetic, limiting potential discomfort and any bruising or swelling will subside after a few days.
Skin boosters improve the quality of your skin and encourage it to look fresh, natural and radiant. Skinboosters work by boosting hydration levels in the skin to improve its smoothness and firmness.
The treatment involves hydrating microinjections of a gel-like substance, hyaluronic acid into the skin. Skinboosters can be used on the face, lips, neck, hands and décolletage. Results are seen after one treatment but for best results a course is recommended and you will notice your skin will become smoother, more radiant and more elastic. A course is usually recommended, 3 treatment sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart followed by top up treatments.
A topical anaesthetic is use to help with the mild discomfort that may be experienced. Following treatment slight redness or minor bruising may be experience which resolves over a few days. A cooling pad is recommended to help reduce any swelling.
A non-surgical face lift is an anti-ageing treatment that uses a combination of fillers and Skinboosters to make your skin fuller, softer and younger looking. Fillers are used to restore lost volume and the Skinboosters restore the skin’s hydration and moisture levels. The combination of these treatments improve the elasticity of the skin leaving you with a more youthful appearance. To treat the whole face several session are required.
The benefits can be seen instantly but slight redness, swelling and tenderness can be expected which is temporary resolving in a few days. The results are long lasting and areas can be refreshed if required.
